Sensmet: Operations Manager

Type: Full-time, permanent

Location: Otakaari 7, Espoo, Finland

Application deadline: Tue 17.03.2026

Sensmet is looking for an Operations Manager to help scale a globally unique deep tech solution transforming industrial and environmental liquid analytics.

Key responsibilities

As an Operations Manager, you will work closely with the CEO and management team, acting as a key operational driver in Sensmet’s international growth. You will ensure that our R&D projects, internal operations, and commercial support run smoothly as we scale.

A central part of your role will be managing national and international R&D projects, supported by organisations such as Business Finland, ELY, and the EU. You will take ownership of preparing, writing, coordinating, and reporting project applications together with our management team and technical experts. You will ensure compliant project execution, budgeting, and documentation once funding has been secured.

In addition, you will support management and sales in operational matters: preparing materials, assisting in customer communication and helping develop scalable processes across internal operations. The role will be tailored based on your experience level and strengths.

Who thrives in this role?

You combine a technical or natural sciences background with commercial understanding and service-oriented mindset, enabling you to operate confidently in a deep tech environment. You bring structure into growth and are comfortable working closely with the CEO and management team in a small but ambitious organization. You take ownership of processes and are motivated by turning complex technology and funding frameworks into scalable, practical ways of working.

You are expected to have:

  • Experience in coordinating R&D projects, including preparing applications, budgeting, reporting, and follow-up
  • Suitable technical or natural sciences degree, or otherwise proven strong technical competence
  • Entrepreneurial and flexible mindset with willingness to contribute across operational, financial, and commercial activities as needed
  • Experience working in an industrial, technology, or hardware-oriented environment
  • A full working proficiency in English and at least intermediate skills in Finnish
  • Solid MS Office skills with ability to learn new tools and processes

Considered as an asset:

  • Experience in improving internal processes in a growing company
  • Experience with quality systems, standards or certification processes
  • Familiarity with financial management and process management softwares
  • Additional language skills

Sensmet can offer you:

  • A central role in building operations in a growing deep tech company
  • The opportunity to work at the intersection of business, operations, and a globally differentiated real-time liquid analytics technology
  • The ability to shape your role based on your strengths and expand your responsibilities as the company grows
  • Close collaboration with the CEO and core team, with visibility into company direction and priorities
  • Comprehensive benefits including lunch benefit, extensive health insurance, and 6 weeks of summer holiday

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and permanent position, and you will be employed directly by Sensmet. The role is based in Otaniemi, Espoo, and we hope you can work onsite regularly as part of a flexible hybrid model.
Salary in this position is approximately 4000–5500 €/month, depending on your experience and level of responsibility.
