Coffee Break with Aalto ISM

Time to grab a cup of coffee and take a break with Aalto ISM! The board will host an hour of casual chatting once a week where you have a chance to voice your concerns or just get some socialising in these remote times.

The Coffee Breaks have been discontinued for now. If you are interested in having more, contact the board and we’d be more than happy to organise some!

Social distancing continues and it is taking its toll on everyone. Aalto ISM board members want to support you through these times the best we can. In need of some casual socialising and small talk? Join us. Want to give feedback about your studies or discuss course matters? Join us. Do you have ideas for the board or feel like you want to be involved in board matters? Join us.

We want to kindly welcome Mursus as well to join and have a chat about what ISM studies are like. These coffee breaks are a great place to get to have conversations with the students of the program!

The coffee break is a casual event with no specified program, so feel free to join at any point within the hour. The hour is hosted by Aalto ISM board members. If the timing is bad for you, please let us know so we can schedule a better time for the upcoming breaks!

LOGY on Suomen suurin logistiikan ja hankinnan asiantuntijoiden verkosto. Jäsenilleen LOGY tarjoaa alan tuoreimman tiedon, hyödyllisimmät ideat ja arvokkaimmat kontaktit.

Osto ja Logistiikkayhdistys Logy on hiljattain lisännyt nettisivuilleen uuden avoimet työpaikat -palstan, jossa on tarjolla ISM-opiskelijoille sopivia työmahdollisuuksia logistiikan, hankinnan ja toimitusketjujen parissa.

Lisäksi LOGY järjestää paljon erilaisia koulutuksia ja webinaareja, joista osa on avoimia kaikille. Tapahtumat ja niihin ilmoittautuminen LOGYn nettisivulla.

Aalto ISM Board for 2021

This year’s operations are already well under way and it is time to take a closer look at Aalto ISM’s board for 2021.

During 30th March to 2nd April, we are publishing board member introductions on our Instagram. Go take a look at the people supporting the ISM community and get to know the lions! Aalto ISM x Accenture Easter Egg Hunt

Weather’s getting warmer and Easter is getting closer. Join Aalto ISM and Accenture for some COVID-safe Easter fun and hunt for amazing prizes.

Aalto ISM x Accenture Easter Egg Hunt on 24.-31. March 2021.

Aalto ISM and Accenture are organising an Easter Egg Hunt to brighten up the pandemic days of our students. Together with Accenture we want to be involved in supporting your wellbeing and encourage trying different activities indoors and outdoors. The event will be organised as a remote competition to complete different kinds of tasks in a week. The tasks will include easy and fast ones as well as more complicated so feel free to join the competition on a very low barrier. The event is free for participants. We have prepared amazing gift bags for the most active participants!

For completing at least 3 tasks:
– Goodie bag filled with easter sweets and other goodies
For the top 10:
– Goodie bag filled with even more easter sweets and other goodies
For the top 3:
– Goodie bag filled with a huge selection of easter sweets, other goodies, and a Wolt-gift card

Check out the event on Facebook, the sign-up link will be posted there on Tuesday 23rd March at 12.00. After your sign up you’re ready to start warming up for the hunt! You will receive instructions on the tasks and for completing them via email. Be quick with the sign-up, spots are limited! Winners will be asked to pick up their prizes on 31st March.

The Board of Aalto ISM is happy to invite you all to our spring General Assembly (Spring Meeting). The General Assembly has the highest decision-making power in our association. All members of Aalto ISM have the right to vote and voice your opinions on the club’s most important matters.

The General Assembly will exceptionally take place on Zoom due to the current restrictions. Please find the detailed agenda attached below. The meeting will be held in English.

In brief, we are going to approve the previous year’s financial statements and this year’s action plan and budget.

Make a Difference, Join the Board

The subject club has worked to strengthen the ISM community, bring you relevant information and tell employers about what you as an ISM student can bring to the company.

Month by month, more great companies have learned about ISM, seen your value and chosen to work with Aalto ISM. Event by event, people on the same courses as you have turned from familiar faces to friends and colleagues.

All this wouldn’t be possible without the ISM community and the common goal of getting the most value out of your studies. Now it is your turn to be a driving force for that common goal and steer the ISM community forward.

The board year of Aalto ISM is coming to an end and 10 spots are opening up for new motivated people who are committed to making a difference. If you’ve made it this far in the text, that means one of those spots is for you.

Open positions

The subject club has 9 different roles where you can shine and earn invaluable experience, connections and reputation. Each position brings responsibilities and pays out in the fulfilment you receive from knowing you’ve helped your fellow students.

  • Chair
    The chair of the board is responsible for overseeing the actions of the board, hosting weekly meetings and representing the subject club at various events.
  • Vice Chair
    The Vice Chair is mainly responsible for organizing the study trip and makes sure meetings have an agenda and venue. The vice chair is also quite free to choose additional ways to contribute.
  • Treasurer
    Responsible for planning the yearly budget, informing availability of financial resources for events organiziers and other investments, invoicing companies and implementing financial statements at the end of the year.
  • Events Coordinator
    The events coordinator is responsible for organizing events and making sure everything event-related is taken into consideration.
  • Corporate Relations
    Corporate relations representatives are responsible of developing and sustaining the corporate relationships of Aalto ISM. They meet with company representatives and work closely with them. Aalto ISM has two corporate relations positions.
  • Academic Relations
    The academic relations role works closely with department, meeting with them to discuss development possibilities regarding our major
  • Communications
    Communications is responsible for managing outgoing communication and the various channels the club uses for communication.
  • Art Director
    The art director is responsible for the look and feel of the Aalto ISM brand.
  • Senior Advisor
    The senior advisor brings insights from previous board work, so that there is no need to reinvent the wheel every year. This position is advised to be filled with a member of the previous years board.

The board selection will happen on the 26th of November, 2020. Positions with more applicants than spots will be selected with a vote. We’ll be sharing more content in the coming weeks.
